When you hear someone ask, “How can I support the troops?” tell them to Support the USO

We are the link between the American people and our troops. Some people have the misconception that the USO is a government agency or receives government funding. USO is not a government agency. The USO is chartered by Congress as a non-profit organization (501(C)(3)) that depends 100% on charitable donations - the generosity of the American people.

Our mission is to provide comfort, support, and enhance the quality of life for the men and women of the United States Military Services and their families. Through monetary, in-kind donations, and corporate sponsorships, we are able to continue the mission of reaching out to troops and their families - wherever they are serving, so they will know we care and have not forgotten them. Every dollar helps to make a difference in everything we do and in the lives of each individual we serve.

General donations can be made to support the on-going efforts of Palm Springs USO or special designations for donated funds can be specified. Donations in memory of a departed loved one, bequests and charitable trust donations can be made as well.

Volunteer your time with the Palm Springs USO. Serving as the backbone, heart and soul of our organization, today over 26,000 volunteers world-wide help carry out the USO mission each year. The duties of volunteers vary, depending upon locations and needs. Through the support of our local volunteers, Palm Springs USO is able to offer many important programs that meet a variety of needs for those we serve. Many of our volunteers dedicate their time to staff our welcoming centers where they greet and assist military personnel from every branch of the service on a regular basis. Others help organize special events and lend a warm and welcoming hand by becoming involved in a variety of recreational and family assistance programs designed to help boost morale and provide our service members with a much needed “home away from home”.
